Overview

Grace Presbyterian Church ("the Church," "we," "us," or "our") is an English-speaking congregation in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi-do, Republic of Korea, affiliated with the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). This Privacy Policy explains what information we may collect through the website, how we use it, how we handle member directory visibility, and the choices available to you.

We try to collect only what we reasonably need to communicate with visitors, support our ministries, administer approved member access, and care for our church community.

Information We Collect

Depending on how you use the website, we may collect the following kinds of information:

Connect form. We may collect your first name, last name, email address, phone number, optional address details, newsletter preference, ministry-interest selections, and any prayer request you choose to submit. The connect form is for follow-up and communication. It does not create a member account.

Directory access application. Through our separate application flow, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, optional mailing address, directory privacy preferences, and password so that church leadership can review your request for directory inclusion and access.

Member account and profile information. If you are approved, we maintain the information associated with your member profile, account, household grouping where applicable, and visibility preferences.

Administrative and operational records. We may keep internal notes, role-based access records, and audit-style administrative logs to help operate the site securely and responsibly.

How We Use Information

We may use information collected through this website to:

  • Respond to questions and follow up with visitors or members.
  • Send newsletters and communications to those who opt in.
  • Review and process directory-access applications.
  • Operate the members directory, household records, and account tools.
  • Support pastoral care and ministry coordination, including prayer requests.
  • Maintain reasonable website security and administrative oversight.

We do not sell personal information submitted through this website.

Member Directory Visibility

Approved members may access a members-only directory. Within that directory, members may be visible by name to other approved members. Your email address, phone number, and mailing address are shown to other members only if you have chosen to make those items visible in your directory privacy settings.

If your contact information exists in our records but you have not chosen to share it, we treat it as private and do not display it to regular members. Administrators and authorized technical personnel may still access full information for administration, support, and security.

Applications and Approval

Our separate application flow is used for review and approval to be included in and access the members directory. Submitting an application does not automatically grant access or by itself establish formal church membership. Applications are reviewed by church leadership or authorized administrators before approval or denial.

Newsletter and Mailchimp

If you opt in to receive the church newsletter through the public connect form, we may send your contact information and newsletter preference to Mailchimp so that we can manage email communications. Mailchimp handles that information under its own terms and privacy practices as well as under our internal ministry practices.

Role-Based Access and Sensitive Information

Access to information depends on role. Regular members can view and edit their own information. Staff may have limited management access. Administrators and developers may have broader access for administrative and technical operation of the site.

We treat contact details, household information, credentials, internal notes, and prayer requests with care. Prayer requests are intended to be limited to authorized church leadership and administrative handling, not made generally available to all users.

Third-Party Services and External Links

The website may rely on or link to third-party services such as Vercel, Convex, Mailchimp, YouTube, map providers, and social media platforms. When you interact with an external service or follow a link away from this site, that third party's own terms and privacy practices apply.

Data Retention and Security

We retain submitted and member-management information for as long as reasonably necessary for church administration, communication, pastoral care, directory operations, and security oversight.

We use practical safeguards such as role-based access controls and custom authentication to help protect information in our care. However, no website or online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and we cannot promise absolute security.

Your Choices

You may unsubscribe from newsletter emails at any time using the unsubscribe tools in those emails or by contacting the church. Approved members may view and edit their own information and manage their directory visibility settings from their account where available.
